5 Design Trends for 2022
The introduction of Metaverse caused quite a disruption in the industry in 2021, making it an exciting year for designers. Many of the assumptions in the 2021 article have evolved into something completely new, and many have become more than just a trend.
Let's see what 2022 has in store for designers!
Minimalism
For a variety of reasons, minimalism and simplicity never go out of style; rather, we see an increase in their application year after year. If you look at the most well-known, top IT companies, you'll notice a strong preference for straightforward, simple, clean UI.
Large Typography
It appears that you can do whatever you want with your headers and paragraphs right now — it's entirely up to you and your imagination. Mix fonts with shapes, photos, and emojis, add texture, select a font with a sophisticated form — and play around with the grid as much as you want.
It can produce an intriguing, eye-catching effect, but it can also produce completely unreadable and irritating results — we would still recommend designing with the user's comfort in mind and in the first place.
NFT
NFTs are probably the biggest internet craze right now, whether you understand them or not.
NFTs have provided almost everyone with a new way to earn money – if you can create something visual online, you can simply sell it as a piece of art. The term "democratization of art" refers to the fact that anyone can sell their work online and that almost anything can be classified as art (from pixel kangaroos to 3D avatars).
Claymorphism 3D
3D is becoming a more simplified version of what we've already seen. Claymorphism is the most popular style of 3D illustration and 3D UI elements. The 3D objects look similar to clay objects (simple in shape, cylindrical/oval, with both inner and outer shadows to create depth), but in a different, more fluffy 3D way than neumorphism.
AR, VR and the Metaverse
Prepare for a new playing field in which virtual reality is integrated into website design. Because things are changing, we recommend acquiring the necessary knowledge as soon as possible. The sooner you incorporate trends into your design, the easier it will be to differentiate yourself from the competition.
To truly engage the viewer with the web page, companies must go beyond the screen interface and incorporate physical interactions. This is frequently useful for internal training efforts not only to effectively engage, but also to acquire and measure data based on the strategic framework established.
Summing up
While no one knows for certain how 2022 trends will stand out and be quickly forgotten, we can already predict that the rise of an entirely different reality in terms of AR/VR with Metaverse will shape the other trends that follow suit.
So, which trend seems the most promising to you?
